La Campagne Ca Nous Gagne

Based on the exodus of city-dwellers to the countryside in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, this film tells the story of Marie-Philippine and Pierre-Louis, a well-heeled Parisian couple who want to break away from their exhausting city lifestyle by going green. Their idyllic vision of the countryside, however, is confronted by a very different reality, as they meet a whole cast of colorful characters: Katmandou, a student who practices tantrism; Cochonnaille, the gruff peasant who is an expert in charcuterie; the “exiles”, a couple of forty-somethings who used to live in Cap d'Agde. Their new life promises to be a tumultuous one, and their move to the French countryside will pose a number of problems for them. Was settling in a village and forgetting Paris really such a good idea?...
